Albertans who qualify can apply for the province’s $100 energy rebate starting Wednesday. The one-time payment, announced by the premier earlier this month, is meant to replace a gas tax cut. It’s available to Albertans over 18 years old who filed a tax return and have a household income under $225,000. The $100 is not taxable and does not have to be reported to the Canada Revenue Agency. A portal on the Government of Alberta’s website will come online on Wednesday. You can access it at alberta.ca.
