Police ask public to help identify suspect in Sunday hit-and-run

Police are asking for help from the public after a hit-and-run in Mahogany injured a pedestrian over the weekend.

Calgary police are asking for the public’s help to identify a vehicle and driver in relation to a Sunday evening hit-and-run in Mahogany.

Around 6 p.m. on Oct. 19, police received reports of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Mahogany Street and 52nd Street S.E.

Police believe a 71-year-old woman was walking east in a marked, light-controlled crosswalk along 52nd when a black 2007-2017 Jeep Patriot driven by a man made a right turn from westbound Mahogany onto northbound 52nd and hit her.

The driver fled the scene. The woman was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
