A pedestrian was taken to hospital after being struck in northwest Calgary on Monday evening. It happened around 6:30 p.m. at 16 Avenue and Second Street N.W. EMS said the victim was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene. Eastbound 16 Avenue was shut down for a time while police investigated. It was reopened shortly after 10 p.m.
