Vandalism continues at an Okotoks, Alta., home connected to a child sexual exploitation investigation. RCMP confirm they are investigating “several reports” of mischief to the residence, located in the Sheep River neighbourhood. The home has been spray painted and egged and has had its windows smashed. Neighbours say 35-year-old Corey Airhart used to live there but doesn’t anymore. “Whoever’s doing this isn’t hurting him—all they’re doing is making our neighbourhood look like garbage,” one neighbour said. Airhart is charged with possessing and accessing child sexual abuse materials. Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT) says more than 500,000 child sexual exploitation photos and videos were found on hard drives and computers seized on May 26, following Airhart’s arrest. According to ALERT, it’s the largest collection the Internet Child Exploitation unit (ICE) has ever encountered. Earlier this month, Okotoks RCMP warned against taking “vigilante action” against Airhart after receiving reports of threats and “comments suggesting some individuals may take matters into their own hands” following his release. Airhart is scheduled to appear in court in Okotoks in August. His release features numerous conditions, Mounties say, including not getting within 50 metres of any place a child under 16 may be present. He is also not allowed to directly communicate with anyone under 16 and may not possess any devices with internet access or cameras.
