Northwest Calgary house fire considered suspicious, officials say

A fire at a home in northwest Calgary on Sunday night is being considered suspicious.

Calgary fire officials say a small blaze at a home in Montgomery may have been deliberately set.

Firefighters were called to a scene on Home Road N.W. at about 7:15 p.m. Sunday.

Officials say smoke was coming from the basement of a home that had been boarded up.

Crews extinguished a small fire and rescued a dog that was trapped inside.

There were no injuries.
