Northwest Calgary crash involving police vehicle sends 4 people to hospital, including 1 officer

A portion of Crowchild Trail in Calgary’s northwest was closed on Wednesday afternoon following a crash that involved a police truck.

It happened shortly before 3 p.m.

The police truck had its lights on and was responding to another call when the crash happened at 24th Avenue and Crowchild.

The police vehicle rolled, and the officer had to be extricated.

The officer was taken to hospital, as were three more people in other vehicles involved in the crash.

In total, five vehicles were involved in the crash.

None of the injuries were life-threatening, police say.

Crowchild Trail has since fully reopened to traffic.
