Water to Calgarians and regional water customers will be reduced next week, but the city’s not anticipating a need for outdoor restrictions. The reduction comes as electrical work is planned at the Bearspaw Water Treatment Plant next week. The city says the work is “required for the construction of a pump station for the North Calgary Water Servicing Project.” “This electrical work will temporarily reduce the amount of water that can be supplied to Calgary and regional water customers,” the city said in a release. “Based on current weather forecasts and projected water demand during this period, outdoor water restrictions are not anticipated at this time.” Connecting the new Bearspaw South feeder main to the existing water system in mid- to late October is separate from this week. The city says the October work “will require temporary Stage 4 water restrictions and indoor water conservation for an approximately four-week period.”
