Snowfall across southern Alberta created difficult driving conditions in Calgary and surrounding areas through Sunday and into Monday. Bands of heavy snow moved through the region, bringing rapidly changing visibility and accumulating snow — especially along major routes like Highway 1 and Highway 2. In the lead up to the storm, Environment Canada issued a special weather statement, warning up to 15 to 25 centimetres could fall. Road conditions remain a concern, with snow-covered sections, slush and icy patches still possible as crews continue clearing. Drivers are being advised to slow down, leave extra space and adjust to winter-like conditions despite the start of spring.
