The homicide unit is investigating after a man died from injuries he sustained during a fight at a Calgary restaurant on Monday. Calgary police said a group of people was attending an after-hours party at a restaurant in the 2800 block of 17 Avenue S.E. when a fight broke out around 6:20 a.m. While the fight initially involved two men, it escalated, and several others got involved. Police said two friends of the victim took him to a home in Marlborough around 40 minutes later, where he was picked up by a family member. Then, around 3:30 p.m., the man was found unresponsive and taken to hospital. On Thursday, the man succumbed to his injuries. Following an autopsy, police have identified the man as 24-year-old Adonai Tekle. One man is in custody and charges are pending, police said.
