As the summer heat sets in for Lethbridge, this year’s City-Wide Water Drive is fully underway. The Lethbridge Food Bank and Interfaith Food Bank continue to collect water for the annual initiative. They’re asking the community to donate cases of water, which will then be distributed to outreach organizations around the city to hand out. More than 10,000 litres of water are expected to be handed out this summer. “We have a community of people here that may not have ready access to water during the summer months, especially cool water or different things like that,” said Tim Rempel, Lethbridge Food Bank executive director. “Being able to provide water to people that don’t have access is vitally important.” Anyone interested in donating can stop by either food bank throughout the summer.
