Lethbridge man arrested in theft of dairy products from Shoppers Drug Mart

A Lethbridge man has been charged in relation to the theft of more than $2,000 worth of dairy products from a drug store.

Lethbridge police say that between Aug. 8 and 30, a man went into the Shoppers Drug Mart on the 500 block of First Avenue South multiple times and stole significant quantities of milk and ice cream that was valued between $2,000 and $3,000.

Video images of the man were provided to police and on Aug. 30, officers saw a man who matched the description of the suspect.

He was arrested without incident.

The man, who is 18 years old, was charged with 10 counts of theft under $5,000.

He was released from custody on the condition that he not go to Park Place Mall or any Shoppers Drug Mart locations.

On Tuesday, he was found to be in breach of his release conditions and arrested.

He’s now in police custody. He’s scheduled to appear in court Friday.
