Lethbridge high school students treated to an EPIC Day

Lethbridge high school students were exposed to a wide range of career paths on Wednesday, sparking curiosity and broadening their understanding of potential opportunities.

EPIC Day, which is an acronym for exploring possibilities, industries and careers, was back for its 15th year at the Lethbridge Trade and Convention Centre, offering career pathways for 720 high school students.

For half of the day, students were connected with business and industry representatives, getting glimpses of what it might be like to work in various fields such as agriculture or environment, health, stem and trades.

For the other half, they had the chance to tour local businesses, discovering firsthand how different occupations contribute to producing quality services.

“EPIC Day is a super, super interactive event. So, we have the luxury of having 50 different employer exhibitors here that are offering all kinds of different hands-on activities for students to try out,” said Judy Stolk-Ingram, Career Transitions executive director.

Nearly 60 businesses took part in Epic Day this year—another strong turnout marking a long-lasting partnership with local students.
