Jewelry store robbery in northwest Calgary involved 5 suspects: police

A jewelry store in northwest Calgary was robbed Thursday afternoon.

An investigation is underway into a robbery Thursday afternoon at a jewelry store located at 5005 Dalhousie Dr. N.W.

Police issued a release Friday saying that around 1:40 p.m., male suspects entered Shimoon Jewellers, disguised, and used hammers to destroy the display case before stealing more than $100,000 worth of items.

The suspects fled in a stolen Ford F-150 with licence plate CLH 2619.

Police say they believe there were five suspects in total. No one was hurt in the heist.

The owner of the store told CTV News he might be closed for up to two months.

He said the suspects didn’t say a word; they just walked into the store and started smashing display cases.
