Investigation underway into early Sunday morning shooting in southwest Calgary

Police say a man was shot in the Kabul Lounge in downtown Calgary early Sunday morning.

An investigation is underway into a shooting that took place early Sunday morning in southwest Calgary.

Just after 5 a.m., police responded to reports of a shooting at the Kabul Lounge, at 846 Fifth Avenue S.W.

One man was transported to hospital, where he is being treated for gunshot wounds.

Police believe the incident was targeted and say there is no further threat to the public at this time.

The area around the scene has been closed down as police conduct their investigation.
