GlobalFest says it’s temporarily suspending operations while it works to secure vital financial support. In a post on its website Monday morning, the organization cited unprecedented financial pressures as well as global geo-political constraints and economic uncertainty as the main reasons. It also says 2025 was a difficult year with 11,000 fewer people attending the festival. “Our board and staff are working night and day to work through this. To ensure GlobalFest can continue, we have suspended ticket sales for the next six weeks. Our efforts will be to secure vital financial support to help bridge our going forward.” It hopes to return to full operation by mid-January. The annual event has been held at Elliston Park since 2003 and features cultural pavilions and several nights of firework displays that are created by different countries.
