Gas drops below $1 a litre at some stations across Calgary

Patrick De Haan from Gasbuddy.com says it’s been ‘a long time coming’ as an increase in oil output and production has led to lower prices at the pumps.

Gas prices dropped back under $1 a litre at a number of gas stations across Calgary Sunday.

The best deal was at the Costco on Buffalo Run Blvd., where a litre was going for 96.9 cents, according to Gas Buddy.

Tempo stations on 26 Ave S.W. and Bow Trail, the Tsuut’ina Gas Stop on Chula Blvd., the 7-11 on 24th St. S.W. and the Centex on Douglaswoods Drive S.E. were all offering gas under a dollar as well.

The last time gas dropped under $1 a litre was the Black Friday weekend at the end of November, but the price immediately shot up in the week that followed.
