Fog advisory issued for Calgary and most of province from Red Deer to U.S. border

A fog advisory was issued for the lower half of Alberta Saturday by Environment and Climate Change Canada.

Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) issued a fog advisory for Calgary early Saturday morning.

At 5:53 a.m., ECCC posted the advisory, which was essentially a continuation of Friday’s advisory.

“Poor visibility in fog is expected in some areas today,“ ECCC posted.

“Fog will generally clear this afternoon, but some areas may see fog continue or redevelop tonight. Visibility will be suddenly reduced at times.

“Be prepared for areas of near-zero visibility and allow extra time to reach your destination. If driving, turn on your lights, slow down and maintain a safe following distance.”

Fog advisories were in place from Red Deer in central Alberta all the way to the U.S. border at Coutts.
