‘Feels pretty good!’: Cochrane man wins $100K in Aug. 20 draw

A Cochrane man has won a prize in a lottery draw from the summer, officials said Friday.

Peter Connell won $100,000 in the Extra draw on Aug. 20.

He says he didn’t check the ticket right away, but even when he did find out, he couldn’t say anything about it.

“I was in shock at the time,” Connell said in a news release. “But my wife was working out of town at the time, so I waited until she had returned from her business trip to let her know!”

Now that his family knows, he is looking forward to using the money.

“I’m paying bills, sharing some with the kids, and then I’d like to take a trip to somewhere warm,” he said.

“It feels pretty good!”

Connell bought his winning ticket from the Chevron at 1101-4A River Heights Dr. in Cochrane.

He was one of two Alberta winners of the $100,000 prize for the draw date, after matching the last six digits of the Extra draw: 6306829.
