Eight Alberta hotel restaurants make list of Canada’s best for 2026

Eight Alberta restaurants have made a new list of the best hotel eateries across Canada – including four in Banff and three in Lake Louise.

The list from online restaurant reservation site OpenTable, released on Wednesday, draws upon data from more than one million reviews submitted by verified OpenTable diners across Canada from May 31, 2025, to April 30.

It features 24 restaurants in Ontario, 12 in British Columbia, eight in Alberta, five in Quebec, and one in Atlantic Canada.

“Don’t sleep on the hotel restaurant,” said Open Table’s Matt Davis in a news release. “Some of the best tables are just past the lobby – and you don’t need a room key.”

“These venues have become dining destinations in their own right, pulling in locals just as much as travellers.”

The Alberta restaurants featured on the list include:

• The Keg Steakhouse + Bar at The Westin on Fourth Avenue S.W. in Calgary;
• 1888 Chop House at the Fairmont Banff Springs;
• Castello Italiana at the Fairmont Banff Springs;
• Rundle Bar at the Fairmont Banff Springs;
• Waldhaus at the Fairmont Banff Springs;
• Fairview Bar and Restaurant at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise;
• Lakeview Lounge at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise and
• Post Hotel Dining Room at the Post Hotel and Spa in Lake Louise.
