Eagles pull away in third period to defeat Wranglers at Saddledome

The Hitmen in AHL action Friday afternoon against the Colorado Eagles at the Saddledome in Calgary.

The Colorado Eagles flew high Friday at the Saddledome, defeating the Calgary Wranglers 6-3 in a matinee game.

Calgary got goals from Clark Bishop, Sam Morton and Terner Ottenbreit and headed into the third period trailing 4-3.

However, the Eagles got third-period goals from Jack Ahcan and Tristen Nielsen to seal the victory.

Early on, Colorado got goals from Maro Jedlicka, Tye Felhaber, Alex Barre-Boulet and Danil Gushchin to build their lead after two periods.

Ivan Prosvetov stopped 40 of 46 shots in goal for Calgary.

The Wranglers and Eagles do it again Sunday afternoon, when they play at 1 p.m.
