Nineteen people have been arrested following a joint operation between the Calgary Police Service and the Alberta Sheriffs. Calgary police say the two-day operation, which focused on locating fugitives and improving public safety, saw 87 warrants executed. The warrants ranged from things like possession of dangerous weapons and drug trafficking to possession of stolen property and possession of fake ID documents. “Strong collaboration between law enforcement agencies is essential to keeping Alberta communities safe,” said Insp. Darren Thompson with the Alberta Sheriffs. “Operations like this demonstrate what we can accomplish when the Alberta Sheriffs and our policing partners work together, share resources and use our combined expertise.”
