Saskatoon police are asking for help identifying person or persons of interest in an arson investigation after a suspicious house fire last week. Crews were called to a two-story home on the 300 block of Avenue E North shortly before 5 a.m. on Oct. 16. They arrived to find the house fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters extinguished the blaze. The lone person in the home was able to escape but a dog was found dead inside. The fire, which started on the porch, was deemed suspicious and the damage was estimated at $250,000. Now, police say video surveillance shows a person or persons prowling in the area between about 8:15 p.m. on Oct. 15 and 4:30 a.m. on Oct. 16. Anyone with information about the identity or whereabouts of the person or persons of interest is asked to call police.
