Corb Lund goes on the road to gather signatures for Water Not Coal campaign

Alberta country music artist Corb Lund is hitting the road to promote his anti-coal mining petition.

The Water Not Coal campaign aims to protect the Rockies from future coal developments.

Lund will start his tour Friday in St. Albert, before heading to Edmonton.

Saturday, he’ll be in Ponoka, Red Deer and Calgary, at the Palomino Smokehouse from 2-4 p.m. and Out Fly Fishing in the southeast from 4:30 to 5 p.m.

Saturday night, he’ll be at Longview at the Twin Cities Saloon from 6-8 p.m.

On Sunday, he’ll be outside Medicine Hat Hockey Arena at noon until 1 p.m., at the Que-Bickle Eatery & Pub in Seven Persons from 1:30 to 2 p.m. and in Festival Square in Lethbridge from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m.

There will be live local music Saturday at the Twin Cities Saloon and Sunday in Festival Square.

Over three days, he’ll visit a total of 14 towns and cities across the province.

The Water Not Coal petition needs to gather just over 177,000 signatures by June 10.
