Cooler week ahead with only one day of seasonal temps

Double-digit highs later this week in Calgary. Jodi Hughes has a look at the five-day forecast from the Sky Watch Weather Centre.

A colder air mass has settled over Western Canada and the U.S. bringing lower temperatures across the region.

The daytime highs in Calgary on Tuesday will peak at 6 C compared to the normal high of 13 C.

A shift in the upper pattern will allow for a more westerly flow on Wednesday and by Thursday temperatures will sit slightly above seasonal.

The next chance of precipitation will come late Thursday and early Friday with a rain/snow mix possible in the B.C. interior and snow in the higher elevations of the Rockies and foothills.

Rain may transition to snow overnight Friday across the QEII corridor, potentially reaching as far south as Calgary.

Similar to the snow in that same area over the Thanksgiving weekend – most should melt on contact with roadways, parking lots, and sidewalks due to the warmer surface temperatures on non-vegetative materials.
