City of Lethbridge adds water sources at Indian Battle Park

The City of Lethbridge installed four new water faucets at the washroom buildings in Indian Battle Park, to keep residents cool and hydrated.

The City of Lethbridge is helping to keep residents cool and hydrated in the river bottom this summer.

Four new water faucets have been installed at the washroom buildings in Indian Battle Park.

The stations are part of ongoing efforts to improve park amenities and promote public health and safety.

The water is safe to drink.

The city says the new faucets can also be used to safely extinguish cooking and campfires.

“There used to be some old posts that people might remember from a long time ago ... close to the parking lots. They had water spigots on them. Unfortunately, they haven’t been in service the last couple of years,” said Craig Richter, City of Lethbridge parks project manager.

“But given the recent hot, dry weather that we’ve experienced, we thought that it would be a good idea to restore that water service down here.”

The city says the faucets are cost-effective and utilize existing infrastructure already being used in the washrooms.
