City limiting underground construction near Bearspaw South Feeder Main

The city is limiting underground construction near the Bearspaw South Feeder Main until the new replacement pipe is finished.

Officials say underground utility and service work poses a risk due to the fragile nature of the deteriorating pipe.

The temporary change means no digging within 10 metres of the feeder main and limited permissions for underground work on nearby roads.

The city is reaching out to those with existing development and construction permits.

It says the move won’t impact residents doing renovation and landscaping work on private properties.
