The federal government is giving Calgary’s science centre a near-million-dollar boost to help pay for upgrades to one of its key theatres. Calgary Confederation MP Corey Hogan made the announcement Tuesday that the TELUS Spark Science Centre’s Spark Infinity Dome theatre will receive $879,065 to support upgrades to the theatre. The funds are coming from the Canadian Heritage Department’s Canada Cultural Spaces Fund. The investment will support upgrades to the Infinity Dome’s audio-visual technology, accessibility improvements, emergency safety upgrades, exhibit fabrication and installation, as well as digital infrastructure enhancements.
