Calgary weather: Decent Halloween forecast after more precipitation this week

Calgary will see some sun and cloud for the rest of the week, with a high of 9 C by Halloween. Jodi Hughes has a look at the five-day forecast from the Sky Watc

Tuesday will be very similar to Monday as far as the temperature in Calgary, but it will be less cloudy, and the wind will be mild.

A change in the upper pattern will introduce a low-pressure system from the Pacific basin to the B.C. coastline early Tuesday, prompting a wind warning for the island and areas north of Vancouver, as well as a blowing snow advisory south of Kelowna.

Strong winds and precipitation will track east throughout the day Tuesday, before heading into Alberta in the evening and overnight.

Rain, snow and freezing rain are possible along the Rockies and near Grande Prairie by the morning, while strong westerly winds up to 100 km/h are possible near Pincher Creek.

Calgary will experience Chinook-like conditions Wednesday with a strong west wind and an elevated daytime high – but this will be short-lived.

Daytime highs on Thursday and Friday will drop back down to seasonal values of 9 C.

Overall, the Halloween forecast will be okay, with an evening temperature around 5 C, but it will likely be cloudy and windy.
