Calgary police seeking information after break-and-enters

Calgarians are being asked to share information about four recent residential break-and-enters.

Calgary police say homes backing onto greenspaces, ravines, parks and golf courses seemed to appeal to thieves.

“In each incident, the homes were unoccupied, and entry was typically gained by breaking rear doors or windows,” said police in a Thursday news release.

“Once inside, offenders stole high-value items including jewelry, watches, purses, sunglasses and cash.”

Investigators believe the first home, near Coronation Drive S.W., was targeted on Jan. 15 between 6 and 7:30 p.m.

Then two days later, thieves broke into a home near Signature Heights S.W., between noon and 4 p.m. and another on Paterson Way S.W. between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m.

The fourth break-and-enter happened at a home near Hamptons Grove N.W. on Jan. 23 between 4:30 and 8 p.m.
