Calgary men charged after guns, $35K worth of drugs seized from Marlborough home

Two Calgary men are facing dozens of charges after guns, stolen property and $35,000 in illegal drugs were seized from a Marlborough home.

Police searched the home, located in the 1400 block of 42 Street N.E., on Feb. 11 as part of an investigation into a series of break-and-enters at commercial businesses.

Investigators believe the two men were responsible for seven break-ins between Jan. 3 and 21 that targeted Calgary gaming, electronics and liquidation stores.

“During the incidents, offenders smashed the front of the stores – causing significant damage – and stole various items, including gaming cards, electronics and knives,” police said in a Friday news release.

The estimated loss from the break-and-enters – including stolen items and property damage – is $30,000, according to police.

The search of the Marlborough home resulted in the seizure of three guns (including a prohibited handgun), a taser, stolen bicycles, a stolen licence plate, stolen IDs, stolen gaming cards, fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine and psilocybin.

The two men charged face 67 criminal offences in total.

Both are scheduled to appear in court later this month.
