Calgary man facing 75 charges after guns, bullets, body armour seized from home

A Calgary man is facing a whopping 75 charges after guns, bullets, body armour, stolen licence plates and drugs were discovered during the search of a home in the community of Rundle.

Police say officers were monitoring a stolen vehicle in a parking lot in the 400 block of Radcliffe Crescent S.E. on Oct. 30, and arrested a man when he returned to it.

Investigators found a loaded handgun inside the vehicle.

Later, officers executed a search warrant at a home in the 2400 block of 39 Street N.E, at which time police say the following items were seized:

• Two handguns, including one that was loaded;
• 640 bullets;
• Two sets of body armour;
• 39 stolen licence plates; and
• An undisclosed amount of fentanyl.

“While this started as an investigation into a stolen vehicle, it quickly led to the discovery of much more criminal activity,” says Sgt. Matt Hill. “Thanks to the diligence of our officers, we were able to get more drugs, guns and bullets off the streets of Calgary.”

The accused, a 27-year-old man, is facing 75 gun, drug and theft-related charges.
