A Calgary man is facing voyeurism charges after allegedly recording multiple women without their knowledge or consent. Police say the accused has, since 2016, provided short-term lodging to women he met through his position at a local church. Brad Dewar, 68, is a former dean of Victory Bible College, current pastor with Victory Churches International and the organization’s secretary. It’s alleged he used multiple devices to record the women while they were staying with him. Police searched the accused’s home along Westwood Drive S.W. on March 4, at which time they seized multiple electronic devices containing 1,500 photos and 19 videos “of an intimate nature.” Investigators believe there are at least three victims. Dewar is charged with three counts of voyeurism. He’s scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 22. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 403-266-1234. Victory Churches of Canada issues statement On Friday, Victory Churches of Canada issued a statement in regards to the charges laid against Dewar, saying they came as a “devastating surprise.” “We do not condone these acts, we denounce them in the strongest terms,” the statement reads. “Our hearts are breaking for all involved, especially the victims of the alleged crimes.” “The alleged incident occurred in his personal residence and not on any Victory Churches property. “Dewar has been formally dismissed from any and all roles with Victory Churches effective immediately. Our prayers are with all those affected.”
