Cache of drugs seized in Fort Macleod, 2 people arrested

Two people have been arrested and a significant quantity of drugs were seized in a southern Alberta bust last week.

Fort Macleod RCMP say search warrants were executed on Jan. 23 with assistance of Piikani Nation RCMP and the Southern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit.

Authorities seized:

• 469 grams of suspected cocaine;
• 53 grams of suspected methamphetamine;
• 242 oxycodone pills;
• two tablets of fentanyl;
• three grams of suspected psilocybin; and
• other prescription medication and drug paraphernalia consistent with trafficking.

Two people, one from Fort Macleod and another from Pincher Creek, were arrested and face several drug offences.

They were released with conditions to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in Fort Macleod on Feb. 11.
