Broken glass falls from 6th floor window in downtown Calgary

Calgary firefighters were called to the downtown commercial core on Friday after broken glass fell from a high-rise building.

The Calgary Fire Department says the call from the 300 block of Sixth Avenue S.E. came in just after 9 a.m.

Firefighters arrived to find the area around the broken glass already taped off.

The CFD’s technical rescue team was called in, and a ladder truck was used to remove the remaining pieces of glass from the exterior sixth-floor window.

“Firefighters did a quick assessment and only one window was affected and there was no other imminent danger found,” said Alex Kwan, public information officer.
