Alberta Health Services has ordered a boil water advisory for nearly 100 homes in two southwest Calgary neighbourhoods on Friday. The advisory for homes in Eagle Ridge and Heritage Park was issued shortly before 7 p.m. after city crews repairing a local water main experienced an “unanticipated depressurization of the pipe” and could not guarantee the water quality. The issue is not related to the Bearspaw South feeder main, the City of Calgary said. All southbound lanes on 14th Street S.W. between 75 Avenue S.W. and Heritage Drive S.W. will be closed until further notice while repairs are underway. Until then, all residents in the affected area are advised to bring all tap water to a rolling boil for one full minute before consuming, including when drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, cleaning raw foods, preparing infant formula or making juices.
