Assault suspect sought by Calgary police

Calgary police are looking for help identifying the man who attacked a homeowner when he answered the door earlier this month.

Officials say an unknown man went up to a home in the 0-100 block of Copperhead Way S.E. in Copperfield at approximately 2:25 p.m. on Jan. 15.

The suspect began banging on the front door.

When the homeowners answered, the man demanded to speak to an individual they didn’t know.

After the homeowners said no one by that name lived there, the suspect attacked them.

“A brief struggle ensued before the suspect fled the area in an unidentified dark-coloured sedan,” police said in a news release Tuesday.

The suspect is described as a man in his 30s, approximately 183 centimetres (6’) tall with a medium build, short dark hair and a beard.

He was wearing a dark-coloured jacket with a light-coloured top underneath.
