Arson charge laid after eight businesses destroyed in fire in Airdrie

A man from Edmonton is facing arson charges after allegedly setting a fire that destroyed eight businesses in June.

RCMP have charged an Edmonton man with arson in connection with a fire that destroyed eight Airdrie businesses back in June.

The fire on Centre Avenue caused more than $1 million in damage.

No one was hurt.

The strip mall where the fire occurred is still fenced off.

Twenty-one-year-old Jaideep Singh is out on conditions before his next court appearance in October.
