Altercation near Henderson Lake investigated by Lethbridge police

Lethbridge police are investigating an altercation at Henderson Lake over the weekend.

Officers were called to the area at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday for reports one man had threatened another with a weapon on a pathway northeast of the golf clubhouse.

Police say both people left prior to officers arriving.

However, an officer patrolling the area “observed a male matching the subject’s description” crossing Parkside Drive South.

“The male fled from police and was observed throwing what appeared to be a knife in a backyard,” police said in a Tuesday news release.

“He was taken into custody a short time later and a search of the yard resulted in police recovering the knife.”

Police are encouraging the victim to come forward.

He’s described as a man with red hair and a red beard.

He was wearing orange shorts, a black t-shirt, an orange helmet and riding a long board or skateboard.

Police say it’s possible there could be additional victims.
