2 arrested, third sought in Dalhousie jewellery store robbery

Calgary police say two people have been arrested and a third suspect is sought in connection with a jewellery story robbery last month.

On Jan. 8, three masked men entered a jewellery store and smashed several glass cabinets with hammers.

They grabbed about $200,000 worth of merchandise from the cabinets, then fled from the store along with a fourth man who was seen waiting at the door.

Police say all four suspects fled the scene in a stolen black Ford F-150 that was parked outside.

Jonathan Michael Orgill, 44, of Calgary, is charged with robbery, possession of stolen property over $5,000 and breaching a release order.

Austin James Florell, 30, of Calgary, is charged with robbery, being disguised with intent, possession of stolen property over $5,000 and breaching a release order.

Joed Leonard Smith, 44, of Calgary, is charged with robbery, being disguised with intent and breaching a release order.

Smith remains at large, while Orgill and Florell are due in court on Feb. 25.

Smith is described as 183 centimetres (6’) tall, 90 kilograms (198 pounds), bald, blue eyed and heavily tattooed.
