Calgary police say 15 people have been arrested and 51 outstanding warrants executed following a joint operation with Alberta Sheriffs. Police say the two-day operation focused on locating wanted individuals, improving public safety and advancing ongoing investigations. “Focused enforcement initiatives like this allow us to dedicate resources to locating individuals who have outstanding warrants and may otherwise be difficult to find through routine policing activities,” said Calgary Police Service Insp. Jeff Pennoyer. The operation was planned over several weeks. Officers attended 66 residences across Calgary, resulting in 15 arrests and 51 warrants executed, including one Canada-wide warrant. Five criminal charges were also laid. “This operation also demonstrates what can be achieved when agencies combine their knowledge, resources and specialized expertise to improve public safety,” Pennoyer said.
