10th Avenue closed due to early-morning fire downtown

Part of 10th Avenue S.W. was closed early Wednesday morning due to a structure fire.

Part of 10th Avenue S.W. was closed Wednesday morning due to a structure fire at a restaurant.

Fire crews were called shortly after 5 a.m. to a building at 213 10th Ave. S.W.

The fire started in Salt and Brick and spread to the Greta Bar and Arcade.

CFS said in a release that the fire was close to an active construction site, but didn’t spread to it and workers were able to work “with minimal impacts.”

As of 8:30 a.m., both directions of 10 Ave. S.W. were closed between Second Street and Centre St. S.W.

First Street S.W. was closed in both directions between Ninth Avenue and 11th Avenue S.W.
