There are plenty of local events and activities to check out in Calgary this weekend.

Grape Escape

• What: Head to the BMO Centre for Grape Escape, Calgary’s largest premium wine, spirits and beer-tasting event.

Zoolights

• What: Zoolights is a family-friendly event that sees the Calgary Zoo decked out with thousands of sparkly holiday lights. Some days may be cancelled due to cold weather, so be sure to check the Calgary Zoo’s social media before attending.

Spruce Meadows International Christmas Market

• What: Immerse yourself in a festive atmosphere with seasonal décor and shop for holiday gifts at the Spruce Meadows International Christmas Market, which has both indoor and outdoor spaces.
• When: Nov. 14 to 16, 21 to 23 and 28 to 30.

Inglewood Holiday Night Market

• What: The Inglewood Holiday Night Market has dozens of vendors selling everything from handmade crafts to vintage clothing to antiques and collectibles.

Flames vs. Jets

• What: The Calgary Flames take on the Winnipeg Jets at the ’Dome.

• What: The Owen Hart Foundation presents actor and comedian Martin Short live at the Jube.

Terri Clark and Paul Brandt

Sister Act

• What: Stage West Calgary presents Sister Act, based on the 1992 Whoopi Goldberg movie, about a woman who, after witnessing a murder, is relocated by police and disguised as a nun.

Pirates of the River Saskatchewan
