10 things to do in Calgary this weekend

There are plenty of local events and activities to check out in Calgary this weekend.

Here’s a look at just 10 of the many amazing things happening around the city:

Halloween Howler

• What: CJAY 92 presents the 2025 Halloween Howler, featuring The Glorious Sons and One Bad Son preforming at the Grey Eagle.
• When: 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025.
• Where: Grey Eagle Resort and Casino, 3777 Grey Eagle Dr.

Ghouls’ Night Out

• What: Put on a costume and head to Heritage Park for Ghoul’s Night Out, a family friendly Halloween event.
• When: Thursday, Oct. 23 to Sunday, Oct. 26, 2025.
• Where: Heritage Park, 1900 Heritage Dr. S.W.

Wranglers vs. Firebirds

• What: The Calgary Wranglers take on the Coachella Valley Firebirds in a weekend double-header. First, the team plays its home opener on Friday, then the Wranglers take on the team again on Saturday evening.
• When: Friday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 25 at 6 p.m.
• Where: Scotiabank Saddledome, 555 Saddledome Rise S.E.

Flames vs. Rangers

• What: The Calgary Flames take on the New York Rangers at the Saddledome.
• When: 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 26, 2025.
• Where: Scotiabank Saddledome, 555 Saddledome Rise S.E.

Screamfest

• What: Screamfest has seven different haunted houses for attendees to check out – including Zombie Outbreak, the most extreme on the list. Aside from the haunted houses, there are also rides, monster trucks and a midway of mayhem.
• When: 7 p.m. to midnight on Friday, Oct. 24 and Saturday, Oct. 25.

Pumpkins After Dark

• What: Pumpkins After Dark lets visitors walk along a pathway of lit pumpkin sculptures and displays featuring more than 10,000 hand-carved jack-o-lanterns.
• When: Until Oct. 31, 2025.
• Where: Winsport, 88 Canada Olympic Rd. S.W.

Haunted Mini-Golf

• What: Calgarians are encouraged to dress up in a Halloween costume when taking a swing at WinSport’s Spooktacular Haunted Mini-Golf.
• When: Until Oct. 31, 2025.

Dial M for Murder

• What: Theatre Calgary presents Dial M for Murder, directed by Jillian Keiley. The play is an adaptation of the classic Alfred Hitchcock thriller.
• When: Until Sunday, Oct. 26, 2025.
• Where: Theatre Calgary, 220 Ninth Ave. S.E.

Pirates of the River Saskatchewan

• What: Jubilations Dinner Theatre Calgary presents Pirates of the River Saskatchewan, a pirate themed musical romp featuring laughs and adventure.
• When: Saturday, Oct. 25 to Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026.

Shear Madness

• What: Stage West Calgary presents Shear Madness, a comedy and murder mystery centred around a hair salon.
