TORONTO — Shares in Kinross Gold Corp. fell more than 10 per cent in trading Thursday after the company lowered its production forecast due to extreme weather and operational challenges at its La Coipa and Round Mountain operations. The gold miner says it now expects full-year 2026 and 2027 attributable production to be two to three per cent below the low end of its earlier guidance. Kinross says it now expects production of 1.84 million to 1.86 million gold equivalent ounces per year. The company says the La Coipa mine in Chile has seen a series of unprecedented winter storms throughout the third quarter that have disrupted mining and milling activities. Meanwhile, the Round Mountain mine in Nevada has seen lower mining rates and lower than expected grades and recoveries.
