Despite a sunny start to the day, residents of Barrie can expect cloud cover for much of Wednesday, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC). The weather agency says Barrie’s daytime high is 25 C and the low is 17 C. Both Humidex and UV index are high, ECCC says, with a respective rating of 32 and seven. During the day, showers are unlikely, as chances of precipitation begin at 0 per cent in the morning and only increase to 20 per cent for most of the day and into the evening hours. Rain is more likely toward the end of the day, ECCC says, as around 11 p.m., the precipitation chances increase to 40 per cent. The risk of thunderstorms also increases at that time. Residents can also expect a southerly wind gusting at approximately 20 km/h for most of the day. In the afternoon, wind speeds may increase to 40 km/h.
