Tottenham woman, 71, ‘feels like a million bucks’ after major lottery win

A 71-year-old Tottenham woman is celebrating a life-changing moment after winning a $1 million prize in the Lotto 6/49 Gold Ball Draw.

Angela Pompei matched all six numbers on her ticket purchased at George’s Convenience in Schomberg on September 6 for the big win.

The retail worker said her love for playing the lottery spans over two decades, and this marks her first major win.

Pompei said she typically buys her tickets from the same store, and one day after work, she stopped by to grab her usual lottery ticket.

The next morning, she shared that she checked her ticket and initially thought she’d won $1,000.

“I realized it was $1 million and had to wake up my daughter to tell her,” she recalled.

Pompei is looking forward to a brighter financial future and possibly even retirement. “I feel like a million bucks.”
