Service disruptions and cancellations due to weather: Full list

The winter storm that continues to impact the region on Tuesday has created less than ideal conditions, causing widespread road closures, cancellations, and service disruptions. Several municipalities have also declared significant weather events and emergency alerts.

Cancellations

The City of Barrie’s 55+ programs at Parkview Community Centre and Allandale Rec Centre are cancelled but recreation facilities remain open.

The Innisfil ideaLAB & Library had a late opening at 10 a.m. and will be having an early closing at 3 p.m.

All Innisfil town arenas will close at 3 p.m.

Midland Public Library is closed.

Essa Public Library closed early on Monday.

Wasaga Beach Public Library is closed.

Empower Simcoe’s EarlyON evening program is cancelled.

All Hospice Simcoe–Seasons Centre locations are closed including Residence: 336 Penetanguishene Road, Community Support: 130 Bell Farm Road, and Seasons Centre: 38 McDonald Street.

Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit is closing its Orillia location at 3 p.m.

Grand Valley Food Bank has closed Tuesday afternoon.

Warming Centres and Social Services

Offices in Alliston, Barrie, Bradford, Collingwood, Orillia, and Midland are open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

There are warming centres in Barrie, Bradford, Midland, Orillia, and Wasaga Beach.

Paramedic Services

The County of Simcoe said response times may be delayed and life-threatening emergencies are being prioritized.

LINX Transit

The Simcoe County transit system is experiencing delays up to 25 minutes with routes 1 and 2 being impacted.

Operators are slowing down and adjusting to the road conditions.

Curbside Waste Collection

Residents are being advised if collection is missed, to leave carts at the curb, clear them of snow, and have them ready for a pick-up later this week.
