Road rage incident along Highway 400 escalates, assault and dangerous driving charges laid

A road rage incident near Highway 400 in Bradford escalated to the extreme, leading to physical assault, robbery, and dangerous driving charges for two people.

On Tuesday, around 11:15 a.m., South Simcoe Police officers responded to multiple reports of a road rage incident that began on Highway 400 northbound and continued onto the County Road 88 off-ramp.

Authorities say, during the dispute between the two, a grey Dodge Ram was observed travelling the wrong way on the on-ramp.

A man supposedly wearing a vest from an outlaw motorcycle gang hopped out of his grey Dodge Ram and approached the driver of the Audi AQ3.

At this time, police say the driver of the Dodge Ram allegedly physically assaulted the Audi driver and forcefully snatched their cellphone.

Officers laid multiple criminal charges on both people.

A 51-year-old man from Bradford has been charged with dangerous operation, robbery, intimidation, assault, causing disturbance, and stunt driving.

The accused driver’s licence has been suspended for 30 days, and the vehicle impounded for 14 days.

And a 43-year-old Bradford woman has been charged with intimidation, causing disturbance, operating a motor vehicle with a hand-held communication device, and interfering with traffic.

The two are scheduled to appear before the court at a later date.
