Things are moving in the right direction for renters in Barrie. The city had the largest rental price decrease of 23 major cities in Canada, according to a new report. Statistics reveal that one-bedroom rentals in Barrie are down 10.3 per cent since the same time last year. A one-bedroom unit in Barrie typically goes for $1,750. Two-bedroom rentals also dropped to around $2,000 making Barrie the ninth most expensive rental market in the country. Rent across Canada, in general, is also dropping. The Zumper Canadian National Rent Report analyzed hundreds of thousands of rent listings last month to find the average rent prices. After examining 23 of the country’s largest cities, Vancouver, Burnaby, and Toronto are the priciest. For a one-bedroom rent is sitting at $2,420, $2,310, and $2,200, respectively.
