Thousands of people in north east Barrie are without power Monday afternoon. Alectra says the outage affected around 10,000 homes and businesses east of Highway 400 and north of Dunlop Street West. The power went out at 12:02 p.m. and was restored by 1:05 p.m. A spokesperson for Alectra tells CTV News the outage was caused by a malfunctioning piece of electrical equipment at Cundles Raod East and Duckworth Street. Barrie police are reminding drivers to treat intersections where the lights are out as four-way stops.
